About

Hi, there! I’m Ashleigh. And welcome to my little corner of the inter-webs. I’m so glad you’re here.

When I quit my 9-to-5 job as a catalog copywriter in December 2017, I became a stay-at-home mom to our toddler. As a result, I felt like my giant leap of faith landed me in soul-sucking quicksand.

Where did I go wrong?

I had thought I was making the right decision for myself and my little family. Sure, I knew it was going to be hard. But this was a whole other level.

After barely keeping it together for two months, I started to find my place. The fog started to lift just enough for me to believe that hope did, in fact, exist.

And I knew that the blog I had been dreaming about for 5 years needed to happen. If for no other reason than I needed a creative outlet—something to help me keep my sanity. (There’s nothing like a toddler demanding five million things a day that will bring you to the brink of madness.)

This blog, as well as watercolor painting and reading, have become the hobbies that fill up my son’s nap time. (Oh and showering, too. Is that considered a hobby? It should be . . . especially for moms who never seem to have time for it.)

I also knew that there are others out there who are making imperfect progress forward each day, putting one foot in front of the other even when it feels really, really tough. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I would love some fellow friends for the journey. What if we all came alongside each other to encourage each other toward being better versions of ourselves? Or offer tips and ideas that make the mundane things of life a little easier for somebody else? Hence, you’ll see posts on a variety of topics, including but not limited to: parenting, adulting, praying, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Thanks for joining me!
